The Division of Dermatology at NorthShore University HealthSystem offers comprehensive skin care for adults and children. Our Board Certified Dermatologists have been recruited from the leading centers across the country. Several Fellowship-trained Subspecialists offer advanced care found in only a select few medical centers. The Division of Dermatology was built with the goal of providing state-of-the-art medical and surgical skin care in a convenient, patient-friendly location. Our physicians are on the faculty of Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, and are involved in research and teaching of medical students and Resident Physicians.
General Dermatology
Our Board Certified physicians specialize in the treatment of all benign and malignant skin growths and tumors. Rashes and skin problems are addressed in a comprehensive manner and treated with the latest therapies.
Pediatric Dermatology
Fellowship trained physicans specialize in treating children with skin disorders of all types. Our specialists also have expertise in the surgical treatment of pediatric skin growths and vascular birth marks using state-of-the–art laser technology.
Cosmetic Dermatology
The Division of Dermatology offers a full spectrum of cosmetic dermatologic services. The cornerstone of this effort is the evaluation of your skin by a physicain who is expert in the diagnosis and management of skin disorders which lead to accelerated skin aging and poor skin quality. All medical and surgical services are available in one setting to offer complete consultation and treatment in the most time efficient manner. Available treatments include Botox, Collagen, Chemical peels, removal of benign skin growths, Liposuction, Varicose vein removal, treatment of unsightly leg or facial veins, and a full line of specialized skin care products to improve the appearance of the skin.
Laser Surgery
The Dermatology laser center has a full complement of laser systems unrivaled on the North Shore. All laser treatments are performed by Board Certified Dermatologists with advanced training in laser surgery. Services offered include laser hair removal, laser removal of unwanted veins and blemishes, laser treatment of brown spots and melasma, photorejuvenation using Intense Pulsed Light, treatment of excessive flushing often associated with acne rosacea, and carbon dioxide laser resurfacing for the removal of facial wrinkles.
Dermatologic Surgery for Skin Cancer
Fellowship trained Dermatologic Surgeons offer advanced surgical treatments including Mohs Micrographic Surgery. This advanced surgical treatment offers the highest rate of cure of any form of treatment for skin cancer. Mohs surgery is indicated for the management of skin cancers in cosmetically sensitive areas such as the face. It is also ideal for recurrent skin cancers or those with unclear borders.
